How to use your new ALUMNI e-mail address with TUCK2001.COM

Alumni Email

In the spring you recieved a note in your mailbox from Andy Steele about the Vox Alumni Network (VAN).  If you haven't yet set this up but would like to use it, click here.

Using BLITZMAIL

When you are done, load BlitzMail as you normally would, but before signing on, change the site from Dartmouth College to Dartmouth Alumni by using the drop-down menu. Click here if you need a copy of BlitzMail.

Now click on BlitzMail in the tool bar and select Preferences.

Then click on the Composing Defaults button and make sure that the Set Reply-To Field To box is checked, and enter youralias@tuck2001.com.

Voila!  Now you can use BlitzMail to access your Tuck2001.com mail.

If you are not at a machine that has access to the BlitzMail software, then you can access your mail from the Web by going to this link: https://basement.dartmouth.edu/~blitz/. Make sure you login with DARTMOUTH ALUMNI instead of Dartmouth College.

Using MS OUTLOOK or OUTLOOK EXPRESS

Alternatively, you can access your mail using MS-Outlook or your favorite POP3 e-mail software by using the following settings:
POP3 SERVER (Incoming mail): pop1.Dartmouth.ORG or pop2.Dartmouth.ORG, depending on what they assigned to you.
SMTP SERVER (Outgoing mail): same as your POP3 Server above

Note: Based on Alastair's advice, I tried just using alum.dartmouth.org for both, and that seems to work too.  Also, you can set your SMTP server (outgoing mail) to the mail server for whatever ISP you use, like mail.earthlink.net for Earthlink users.
User ID/Name = <your name as it appears on VAN, ex: John.William.Jones.Tu01>

If you have any questions about this procedure VAN has a helpful site which you can access at: http://www.alum.dartmouth.org/van/help/.
If you are still stumped, please don't hesitate to contact webmaster@tuck2001.com.
